SAISD Schools Help Provide Christmas for Troops
December 17, 2010
Several SAISD campuses provided assistance for this year's Christmas For Our Troops. Christmas For Our Troops is a city-wide project in which Christmas gift boxes are packed and shipped to our soldiers serving overseas, who won't be home for the holidays. Central High School, Lake View High School, and the Central Freshman campus, along with Lee and Glenn Middle Schools, brought items for the boxes, and helped to pack and load the boxes. They also wrote greeting cards and letters of encouragement. Five elementary campuses wrote cards and also helped raise money to ship the boxes: Alta Loma, Bradford, Fannin,
Glenmore, and Lamar.
SAISD and other groups who participated received a thank-you photo and the following letter of gratitude from Lt. Col. Georgette Young of the Combined Joint Interagency Task Force-435, Camp Phoenix, Kabul, Afghanistan.
