Students Participate in Arbor Day Contest

December 18, 2008

Students from San Angelo ISD participated in the Arbor Day poster contest sponsored by Keep San Angelo Beautiful. The national contest, held annually, is open to all 5th grade students. Students from SAISD as well as other local schools designed posters to illustrate this year's theme - "Trees are Terrific In Cities and Towns." Mrs. Julie Mayfield's students from Bonham Elementary created the winning posters for the San Angelo ISD division of the contest:

Kelsey Minzenmayer -- 1st Place
Olivia Tobias -- 2nd Place
James Cassaro -- 3rd Place

Kelsey Minzenmayer also won 1st place overall among all participating schools in San Angelo and will be honored in the spring at the city's Arbor Day celebration.
