San Angelo ISD is a military-friendly school district, and we welcome all families and personnel from Goodfellow Air Force Base to our city and to our schools. We strive to have an open and supportive relationship with GAFB. To that end, San Angelo ISD has a designated Military Liaison, Ms. Toni Hansen.
Ms. Hansen is the Director, 17th Force Support Squadron, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas. Ms. Hansen leads 300 military, Department of the Air Force civilians, and Non-Appropriated Fund personnel, as well as 125 contractor personnel in one of the most diverse squadrons in the Air Force. Ms. Hansen provides technical direction and oversight to five flights which offer FSS programs and include the Sustainment Services flight, Manpower & Personnel, Airman & Family Services, Force Development, and Community Services. These programs include lodging, physical fitness, troop feeding, library services, child and youth development, school age and teen programs, and family child care homes, Casualty Affairs, Civilian Personnel, Military Personnel, the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Education and Training, Professional Development, and the Airman Leadership School.
As Military Liaison for San Angelo ISD, Ms. Hansen attends SAISD school board meetings in an advisory capacity.
As part of the Military Child Education Coalition, both Central and Lake View High Schools are equipped with Interactive Counseling Centers (ICCs). These centers allow web-based video conferencing between the sending and receiving schools of military children who are preparing to move to a different school.
If SAISD may be of help to you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
